ONE YEAR OF FORREST
It's amazing - in October 2007 The Rehearsal Room will have been shooting Forrest's Video Blog for a year. In that time we have shot 25 Blogs, involving 37 actors (all from The Rehearsal Room MASTER CLASS) and accumulated 90 minutes of screen time. And we have learnt a lot!

Skill building is the fundamental focus of all Rehearsal Room workshops and this has been the focus of “Forrest’s New Beginning”. It is plain to see the benefits. Over the year veryone involved has got better at what they do. The writing is better, performances are better and the story is better. It has been particularly impressive to see the way actors who are only appearing for a handful of scenes have fitted into the production process. Actors are expected to keep the long takes afloat by solving problems on the run while keeping story moving and staying believable. It is quite a challenging exercise but it has generated energetic and engaging performances.

The next step is to explore the possibilities of turning Forrest into a commercial venture. This creates a whole new area of endeavour and with its own special areas of expertise. Reports from one Australian Feature Film Distributor and one TV Network are pending. This is just the beginning of the journey. We will have to wait and see what happens next.
