Your choices.

EITHER Pay the minimum amount and prepare the audition yourself. If the response from the casting director suggests you are an employable actor then continue to see the other casting directors. If its suggested you need to improve your skills then the benefit of this schedule is that only two casting directors have seen your work at its current level and you have time to work on improving skills before trying again.

OR Depending on the level of support you feel you need one audition coaching session might be enough to get you focussed and on track. Richard gives generous time for audition coaching sessions. Or you can use the audition coaching to support you with the tricky scenes.

Scenes can be tricky if ...

• you are being asked to play a character type entirely different to yourself
• if the story in the scene is convoluted or vague or apparently pointless.

OR Attend an audition workshop to help prepare your scenes. This will also help explore your acting process as well as your audition process. Depending on the feedback from the Casting Directors you then choose whether you are ready to prepare on your own or whether further audition coaching would re-enforce the work done to this point.

NOTE: Casting Directors occasionally cast on looks but mostly a satisfactory skill level is what determines an actors employability. Skill is something that can be increased through adjustment and practice.
