THREE parts on DVD/Video

The DVD/Video is separated into three inter-related segments, which build towards the final performance. These three segments are the building blocks of all performance.

1 Making Story Work
Making sure the story starts with a clear beginning is the first step in the performance journey. And resolving the dramatic tension that marks the ending of the story is the key to the audience understanding they have arrived at the end of the story's journey.

Rehearsal Room workshops clearly demonstrate that the simple clear labelling of story elements can instantly transform a performance from confusion to clarity - for actor & audience.

2 Making Character Work
The character is the vehicle that delivers the story to the audience.

Knowing your character's need and building the world they exist in are really important elements. We demonstrate how to do this logically and intuitively.

When the character makes believable decisions and the story is told then the actor's job is done. Learn to build the foundations that support this result.

3 Making Performance Work
Performance is where character and story come together to deliver the play to the audience. Rehearsal is where the performance is assessed and adjusted to improve the outcome. The rehearsal is a learning loop of discovery.

These three programmes establish a set of tools that build a process which is practical and workable. The goal is to be better prepared for the final performance - the final exam.
