Off-Cut: Eight

Ralph Fiennes as quoted in an interview by Shane Danielsen for "The Weekend Australian" June 17th-18th, 2000

"This obsession with audience sympathy is something I've never quite been able to understand, particularly insofar as it relates to actors and the parts they play. Contrary to popular opinion, I think audiences are actually quite smart. If they believe in a character and if they accept the psychology of that character - and it's sufficiently well-written and well-performed - then whether the protagonist is likable is really not an issue."
