Off-Cut: Fifty One

This was the text of an email sent to workshop participants in May 2000.

I was watching this week's "X Files" and was struck by the simple low key but actively focused performances. No director saying "go faster" here.

Despite the fact that these are very wordy scripts with complicated plots actors just pursue the task of interacting. They are supported in this goal by bold lighting and a good music track.

The complexity is in the plot.

The performances are very simple.
