After the presentation of the 2001 Australian Film Institute Awards in which the film "Lantana" scooped the pool Anthony LaPaglia was quoted as saying the following.
"It's an indication that we can make local product that works at the box office and you don't need car crashes and such things if you tell a truthful story"
